Rescue of wooden fishing boat and 7 fishermen in distress at sea
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 26, at Lach Quen estuary, Quynh Luu district, Coast Guard Squadron 2 of Nghe An province handed over a fishing boat in distress and 7 fishermen in distress at sea to Quynh Thuan Border Post who had just been brought safely to shore by the Coast Guard Squadron 2.

Previously, at 8:05 a.m. on January 25 (ie 28th of the Lunar New Year of Dinh Dau), the wooden boat with license plate NA 95490 TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 1964), permanent resident of Hamlet 12, Quynh Ngoc Commune, Quynh Luu District, was fishing at coordinates: 19 0 07'N - 106 0 25'E (45 nautical miles from shore) when the boat's engine died and could not operate. The boat sent a distress signal via radio and contacted the Border Guard of Nghe An province.

At 9:00 p.m. on the same day, rescue ship BP 06.19.01, Squadron 2, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, consisting of 15 officers and soldiers, led by Captain Le Xuan Huong, Deputy Squadron Leader, left the port to carry out the mission of rescuing the ship in distress. At 2:15 a.m., ship BP 06.19.01 approached the ship in distress, provided food and provisions for the fishermen, and checked and took care of the health of the 7 crew members on board.
At 9:50 a.m. on January 26, rescue ship BP 061901 of Squadron 2 - Nghe An Provincial Border Guard towed the distressed ship NA 95490 TS to anchor at Lach Quen Fishing Port - Quynh Thuan - Quynh Luu.
Immediately afterwards, the relevant parties held a handover ceremony to receive the distressed vessel at Quynh Thuan Border Post, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard. The Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command presented gifts and encouraged the fishermen to overcome the incident, celebrate the Lunar New Year happily and quickly take the vessel out to sea./.
