Former Arsenal star dies in traffic accident
Former Arsenal, Real Madrid and Sevilla player Jose Antonio Reyes died after a traffic collision in Seville on the morning of June 1.
According toMarca, the former striker born in 1983, could not survive a traffic accident in his hometown of Utrera on the morning of June 1 (Spanish time).
Reyes was killed while driving on the A-376 highway between his hometown of Utrera and Seville. The accident happened at 11:40 a.m. on June 1. The car Reyes was driving veered off the highway and burned.

Sevilla, Reyes' former club, posted a statement on social media announcing the Spanish striker's death, saying: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved striker Jose Reyes in a traffic accident. Rest in peace."
Reyes was the youngest player in Sevilla's history when he made his debut for the club at the age of 16. Four years later, he moved to Arsenal for £17 million in January 2004.
Reyes won the Premier League with Arsenal in his first season. He also made history as the first Spanish player to win the title. Reyes stayed with Arsenal for three years, winning the FA Cup, Community Shield and finishing runner-up in the 2006 Champions League.
Reyes moved to Real Madrid on loan in the 2006/07 season. He played an important role in Real's La Liga title campaign. Reyes then joined Atletico Madrid and played for the club from 2007-2011, but did not win many significant titles.
Reyes wandered to Espanyol, Benfica, Cordoba and a few small teams before joining Extremadura Club in January 2019 to reunite with old teammate Diego Capel.
For the Spanish national team, Reyes played 21 matches and scored 4 goals.
