Former US intelligence officer reveals plans to attack Russia after Euromaidan in Ukraine.
(Baonghean.vn) - Ria Novosti reported that former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter, in an interview with journalist Garland Nixon, revealed that the US had planned a coup in Kyiv in 2014, aiming to provoke war with Russia and harm its potential.

"Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland didn't want any diplomatic activity from the start; she was involved in covert operations in Ukraine aimed at destabilizing Russia. Now, when we talk about how this war started, we understand that it started because Nuland wanted it to happen. The war began to weaken Russia and devastate its economy," said former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
Ritter recalled that it was these very objectives that led to the coup in Kyiv in 2014. And subsequently, CIA bases were established throughout Ukraine. According to Ritter, 12 bases of the US intelligence agency were believed to be destabilizing for Russia.
Victoria Nuland, widely regarded as the "architect" of the US anti-Russian stance and foreign policy toward Ukraine, has decided to resign after 35 years of dedicated service. She is best known for her participation in Ukraine's Euromaidan events.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that Ms. Nuland is awaiting resignation. Blinken also thanked his aide for shaping Washington's policy toward Ukraine and Russia for many years.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin had repeatedly stated that a special military operation would not take place in Ukraine unless a coup d'état occurred. The Russian leader noted that for many years NATO had expanded its infrastructure on the territory of its neighbor, turning it into a hostile "anti-Russian" nation.
Therefore, to prevent the creation of such a military bridgehead, Russia is conducting a special operation aimed at demilitarizing Ukraine.
