A young man was rescued after jumping off the Cua Hoi bridge at midday.
Fishermen fishing near Cua Hoi Bridge spotted a young man jumping off the bridge in an apparent suicide attempt and immediately rowed their boat to rescue him.
At around 12 noon on March 22nd, several people passing by the Cua Hoi bridge over the Lam River connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces saw a young man riding a motorbike and then stopping in the middle of the bridge, exhibiting unusual behavior.
A few minutes later, the young man jumped off the bridge in an attempt to commit suicide. Because the incident happened so quickly, many people were unable to intervene. At the same time, several fishing boats near the Cua Hoi bridge noticed the incident and quickly rowed over to rescue him.
The young man was then brought ashore in a state of panic. Locals gave him jackets to keep him warm, advised him "not to do anything foolish," and simultaneously reported the incident to the authorities and contacted his family.
According to reports, a 28-year-old man from Dien Chau district (Nghe An province) committed suicide by driving to Cua Hoi bridge "due to depression."
