Former Song Lam Nghe An goalkeeper finds his calling in amateur football.

Ho Van Tu is a product of the Song Lam Nghe An youth academy, born in 1995 alongside Hoang Van Khanh, Nguyen Phu Nguyen, Ho Tuan Tai, and others. In the past, the goalkeeper from Quynh Luu played for Phu Yen, Dong Thap, Binh Dinh, Song Lam Nghe An, and Nam Dinh.

However, after parting ways with the Nam Dinh team at the end of the 2022 season, Ho Van Tu was unable to find a new club. Realizing that his chances of playing in the V.League and the First Division were quite slim, Ho Van Tu decided to join EOC FC, a leading amateur football team in the capital.

"If you manage your spending wisely, you can make a living with the income the team pays. Besides, 7-a-side football is in a strong development phase, and many professional players are also competing in this league," shared the goalkeeper of Song Lam Nghe An during the first phase of the 2020 season.

With his modest physique for a goalkeeper (1.74m tall), Ho Van Tu often finds himself at a disadvantage in aerial duels. Therefore, the 29-year-old goalkeeper's choice to play for EOC FC is perfectly logical. Ho Van Tu is excellent at reflexes and uses his feet skillfully.

Reportedly, after the first two matches of the 2024 Bia Saigon Cup National 7-a-side Football Championship (Northern region), Ho Van Tu's EOC FC only managed to secure 2 points, drawing 1-1 with DTS FC and 3-3 with Anh Phap FC, a team based in Nghe An province.

In the match between EOC FC and Anh Pháp FC, Hồ Văn Tú had the opportunity to reunite with some of his former teammates from Sông Lam Nghệ An, such as Thái Bá Sang, Bùi Đình Châu, Nguyễn Văn Đức (also known as Đức "Ozil")... It was truly a delightful reunion in the heart of the capital city.
