Former Song Lam Nghe An goalkeeper faces difficulties at First Division team.
From an "untouchable" position, former goalkeeper Le Quang Dai has become a secondary option at Phu Dong Ninh Binh recently.
Last season, Le Quang Dai was frequently relegated to the substitutes' bench. According to statistics, in the 2023/2024 National First Division League, the goalkeeper born in 1993 only played in goal for Phu Dong Ninh Binh in a mere one match.
Reportedly, at the beginning of last season, Le Quang Dai suffered a minor injury and had to sit out for a short period. Therefore, the starting goalkeeper position was given to Duong Van Cuong by coach Nguyen Van Dan.
Duong Van Cuong's consistent performance has forced Le Quang Dai to settle for a supporting role. This is a completely understandable decision by the Phu Dong Ninh Binh coaching staff. Overall, Le Quang Dai had a rather disappointing season.
Just before the start of the 2024/2025 season, Phu Dong Ninh Binh underwent significant personnel changes. Notably, coach Nguyen Van Dan decided to leave the ancient capital of Hoa Lu to become the head coach of the third-division team Quang Ninh.
The person taking over the hot seat at Ninh Binh Stadium is coach Trinh Duy Quang, also a former Hoang Anh Gia Lai player. Therefore, Le Quang Dai's immediate task is to win the trust of the strategist from Ben Tre.
To date, Le Quang Dai has spent almost six consecutive seasons playing for Phu Dong Ninh Binh (2018 - 2024). It can be said that Le Quang Dai is one of the "key figures" of Phu Dong Ninh Binh, both in terms of his contributions and his long tenure with the team.
Before joining Phu Dong Ninh Binh, Le Quang Dai was on the roster of Song Lam Nghe An (2016 - 2018). However, at Vinh Stadium, Le Quang Dai only occasionally played in goal for the Nghe An team in official tournaments.
Hopefully, Le Quang Dai will be given opportunities by coach Trinh Duy Quang, contributing to Phu Dong Ninh Binh's success in the 2024/2025 season.
