Former SLNA striker officially joins Hue Football Club.

Before joining Hue FC, the striker born in 1991 underwent trials at Phu Dong FC and Binh Dinh FC. It was thought that this season, Truong Van Thanh would wear the jersey of the Binh Dinh team after both sides had reached an agreement. However, the fact that the Quy Nhon-based team was unable to find a sponsor was the reason Truong Van Thanh changed his mind.

Having received the "green light" from the Binh Dinh Club management to find a new club, the 28-year-old striker contacted Hue FC. After only a few trials, Truong Van Thanh was retained by the coaching staff of the Tu Do Stadium team to participate in the 2019 season. Thus, Hue FC is the fourth team that the player born in 1991 has joined, after SLNA (2014-2015), Phu Yen (2016), and XSKT Can Tho (2017).

In Hue FC's registration list for the 2019 season, Truong Van Thanh is the only player who has previously played for SLNA. More than three months ago, the team at Tu Do Stadium welcomed Nguyen Viet Nguyen, Bui Duc Manh, and Ho Trong Vang (all from SLNA) for trials. Unfortunately, the performances of these three players did not impress coach Phan Van Tri and his staff.

Hue FC's first match of the season will be against Hong Linh Ha Tinh FC in the preliminary round of the 2019 National Cup. With key striker Tran Thanh not yet fully recovered from injury, it is highly likely that coach Phan Van Tri will field Truong Van Thanh from the start to partner with Vietnam U23 national team player Tran Danh Trung in the attack for the team from the ancient capital.
