Former SLNA striker joins second division team.
(Baonghean.vn) - Phu Dong Club has successfully recruited striker Truong Van Thanh on a two-year contract.
Truong Van Thanh is a player who came through the SLNA youth academy and has had impressive performances in national youth tournaments such as U17, U19, and U21. Although he was in the same generation as goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh, the career path of this striker born in 1991 has been quite turbulent.
After two seasons without making much of an impression with the SLNA first team (2014-2015), Truong Van Thanh moved on to Phu Yen (2016) and XSKT Can Tho (2017). Last season, the player from Tan Ky played for Hue Football Club.

Towards the end of 2019, Truong Van Thanh joined Hai Phong FC for training. Although he demonstrated his abilities, the former SLNA player failed to "find common ground" with the club's management.
After leaving Lach Tray Stadium, Truong Van Thanh returned to his hometown to train with his former team, SLNA. Since he didn't get a contract with the Vinh-based club, the 29-year-old decided to try out for Phu Dong FC. After only a few training sessions, Truong Van Thanh was given a contract by head coach Nguyen Trung Kien, valid until the end of the 2021 season.
At Phu Dong Club, Truong Van Thanh will be playing alongside his teammate from Nghe An, goalkeeper Le Quang Dai. It is known that Phu Dong Club's goal in the 2020 National Second Division is to gain promotion.
