Former flight attendant replaces Quang Thắng in Táo Quân 2024

Quoc Quan once participated in the "Meeting at the Weekend" show, appearing in many comedy skits.

In 2023, Quoc Quan made a surprise return to the big screen in the film "The Devil Dog". As of January 30th, the Box Office recorded a revenue of 101 billion VND for "The Devil Dog". The film is considered a "warhorse" that is expected to surprise at the box office in early 2024.

In the film, Quoc Quan plays the role of Quyet. Immediately after his brother's death, Quyet wants to reopen the family's dog slaughterhouse, but his sister-in-law (Kim Xuan) and nephew (Quang Tuan) oppose it. Underlying family conflicts begin to surface, revealing dark secrets.

"The Dog Demon" places the humanity of each character against the dark backdrop of the dog slaughtering profession. Quoc Quan, playing the villain Quyet, delivers a natural performance, creating dramatic confrontations with Nam (Quang Tuan). This marks a surprising return for Quoc Quan in a film project produced by Vo Thanh Hoa.

The film features many actors from both the South and the North, with the portrayals of Quyết (Quốc Quân) and Thúy (Vân Dung) being praised for creating a dark and terrifying atmosphere for "The Demon Dog".

Immediately after "The Devil Dog" achieved box office success, Quoc Quan surprised audiences further by appearing in the 2024 Tet Comedy Show as the God of Economy.

In the dialogue segment, the new Economic God of the Kitchen received applause from the audience when he asserted that, despite being an official, he had never received any gifts, not even four bottles of wine.

For many years, the role of the Economic God of the Kitchen has been played by actor Quang Thắng. Quang Thắng's playful, natural, and humorous acting style has created a very unique mark for the Economic God of the Kitchen. Taking on this role in Táo Quân 2024, Quốc Quân will have to face comparisons from the audience.

Quoc Quan's career has been marked by many turning points. He once dropped out of the Security Academy to take the entrance exam for the University of Theatre and Film. In 1991, after graduating, Quoc Quan joined the Vietnam National Drama Theatre.

Having worked as a stage actor for a short time, due to low income that wasn't enough to live on, Quoc Quan switched to working as a flight attendant. Quoc Quan once jokingly remarked, "Looking at my face, no one would believe I used to be a flight attendant."

According to Quoc Quan, the audience's image of flight attendants is usually that of handsome, tall, and friendly men, while he has the kind of face that any director would want to cast in villainous, devious roles.

Quoc Quan recounted that he was typecast in roles as a deceitful and manipulative character to the point that he was even threatened with violence by audience members when he went out, and some even approached him and arrogantly asked, "Do you want to fight?".

After working as a flight attendant, Quoc Quan also spent time working for a French oil company.

During his quiet years as an actor, Quoc Quan ventured into the restaurant business.

Despite the distance, Quoc Quan's passion for acting remained strong; after many years away from the spotlight, he still received acting offers.

His return to acting with a role in the blockbuster film "The Devil Dog" and the 2024 Tet Comedy Show could mark another turning point in Quoc Quan's life in the new year.
