Former President Medvedev stated that the EU is now an enemy of Russia.
(Baonghean.vn) - The former Russian president said that although Moscow is not happy to lose Brussels as a strategic partner, it must accept this new reality.

According to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Russia and the European Union (EU) are now "real enemies," not neighbors.
Writing on social media a few days ago, Medvedev, currently the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated that Brussels has become obsessed with constructing "crazy conspiracy theories" and making uncontrolled statements about "Russia's utter unpredictability."
As a result, the bloc has spent “enormous sums of money to maintain its security” but has “lost Russia as a long-term strategic partner. We are not happy about this, but it is the truth,” the former president added.
Medvedev accused the EU of meekly complying with the capricious whims of the US, which he argued meant the bloc had lost the ability to act independently not only globally but even within Europe.
"Almost all EU countries stood at attention to the US and the UK and began to obediently follow their instructions to support the regime in Kyiv. And now, generally speaking, any instructions," Medvedev wrote.
He argued that the EU had brought itself to the brink of "total degeneration" by deciding to become an enemy of Russia at the instigation of Washington.
At the same time, the former Russian president asserted that the world's major powers would sooner or later agree on how to coexist in the new geopolitical environment, and that Washington would have no choice but to reach an agreement with Russia, China, and the Southern Hemisphere nations.
One of Russia's closest allies, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, declared last week during a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto that he wholeheartedly supports the existence and preservation of the EU, and wishes for the EU to become "strong, resilient, sovereign and independent."
Lukashenko explained that his support did not stem from any particular love for the EU, but because it is one of the pillars, along with Russia, China, the US, and India, holding the planet together, and its collapse would be “bad for everyone.”
