Former Song Lam Nghe An center-back leaves Dong A Thanh Hoa.
Due to his inability to make significant contributions, Pham Manh Hung's contract with Dong A Thanh Hoa was terminated.
Just before the start of the 2024/2025 season, Pham Manh Hung was recruited by Dong A Thanh Hoa with a one-year contract. However, under coach Velizar Popov's "reign," the 1993-born player's familiar position was on the substitutes' bench.
According to statistics, during his time with the Thanh Hoa team, Pham Manh Hung only played in a mere 3 matches, totaling 59 minutes. The simple reason is that the player nicknamed Hung "the crossbar" was unable to compete for a position with his teammates.
Following coach Velizar Popov's departure, Dong A Thanh Hoa underwent a restructuring and reinforcement of its squad. Players not included in coach Hoang Thanh Tung's plans had to pack their bags and leave the Thanh Hoa team, including Pham Manh Hung.
Given the current situation, the chances of Pham Manh Hung finding a new club in the V.League are extremely slim. It's no coincidence that Pham Manh Hung is not favored by coach Chu Dinh Nghiem (Hai Phong) and coach Velizar Popov.
So far, Pham Manh Hung has played for 5 teams. Before Dong A Thanh Hoa...Lam River, Nghe AnSHB Da Nang, Hai Phong (twice) and Thep Xanh Nam Dinh. Notably, this player was a key player for the Vietnam U23 team during the period 2013 - 2015.
