Has former Vietnam U19 player Phung Que overcome his darkest hour?

Although he never played for SLNA's first team, Nguyen Phung Que is still a familiar name to fans in Nghe An province. This player was in the same generation as Que Ngoc Hai, Pham Manh Hung, Nguyen Sy Nam, Ho Sy Sam… at the former SLNA academy and regularly featured in the SLNA U17, U19, and U21 teams participating in various tournaments.

Emerging from the 2009 National U17 Championship held in Nam Dinh, Nguyen Phung Que was one of the most influential players on SLNA U17's journey to the championship title. Positioned as a central striker by coach Nguyen Van Tien, the player from Thanh Chuong excelled in his assigned role.

There are two details that fans in Nghe An province can never forget whenever Nguyen Phung Que is mentioned. First, the only goal that helped U17 SLNA defeat U17 Nam Dinh in the semi-final match, and second, the red card in the final match against U17 Dong Thap (U17 SLNA won 1-0).

During that period, Nguyen Phung Que was highly regarded for his talent, alongside teammates of the same age such as Pham Manh Hung, Que Ngoc Hai… Proof of this is that in 2011, the player from Thanh Chuong was called up by coach Hoang Van Phuc to the Vietnam U19 team to participate in the BIDC Cup held in Cambodia.

Sadly, injuries ruined Nguyen Phung Que's football career. The dream of playing for SLNA's first team never came true for the striker from Thanh Chuong district.

In 2015, Nguyen Phung Que officially left SLNA to seek opportunities with teams in the First and Second Divisions. Last season, the player born in 1993 played for Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

In recent days, Nguyen Phung Que has been working hard in training to win the trust of the XSKT Can Tho coaching staff. Hopefully, the striker from Thanh Chuong has overcome his difficult period.
