As of 6 p.m. on April 4, nearly 30,000 applications for the national high school exam have been updated to the 2017 national high school exam and university admission management information system. Of these, about 74% of candidates registered for university admission.

Notably, up to this point, among the candidates registering for the combined exam, the number of candidates registering for the social science exam does not have a large difference with the number of candidates registering for the natural science exam.

Currently, about 40% of candidates register for the social science exam, 50% of candidates register for the natural science exam, and about 10% of candidates register for both exams.

Also on April 4, the Ministry of Education and Training officially announced the information system to support the 2017 exam and enrollment work.

Accordingly, the system will support candidates to register for the national high school exam at the email address:[email protected], and support for registration for regular university and regular college of education at email address:[email protected]Email information support will be available continuously from April 1 to August 15, 2017.

The Ministry of Education and Training has also arranged a standing unit to support candidates in registering for the exam and admission through two phone numbers (during office hours): (04) 32181385, (04) 32181386. Telephone support will be implemented in two phases: phase 1 from April 1 to April 20, phase 2 from June 20 to July 14.

Cancel the registered combination exam: not considered for graduation

In a press conference on April 4, Mr. Tran Van Nghia - Deputy Director of the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assessment, Ministry of Education and Training - noted: if candidates skip the registered combination exam, they will not be considered for graduation.

According to the regulations on national high school exams and recognition of high school graduation, to be considered for recognition of high school graduation, candidates must take 3 compulsory exams: math, literature, foreign language and choose 1 of 2 combined exams: natural science or social science; candidates can register to take both combined exams; the higher score of the exam will be considered for recognition of high school graduation.

However, for candidates who have not graduated from high school, if they have registered for any combination exam, they must take all the components of that exam. If they do not take all the exams, they will be considered as having skipped the exam they registered for graduation, and will not be considered for graduation.

Therefore, if a candidate has registered for both combined exams, he/she must take both exams.
