Immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, the demand for labor recruitment in Nghe An increased sharply as many businesses accelerated production and expanded orders. Tens of thousands of job positions were registered for recruitment in the first few months of the year, showing a thriving labor market and opening up many opportunities for workers in the area.

The labor market in Nghe An province is entering 2026 with positive signs, as recruitment activities by businesses have been vibrant since the beginning of the year. According to a report from the Employment Service Center of the Department of Internal Affairs of Nghe An province, in the first two months of 2026, 101 businesses across the province registered their labor recruitment needs, totaling 25,218 people, with a recruitment demand of 19,309 workers specifically arising in February 2026.

It is expected that recruitment demand will remain high in March 2026 as businesses continue to need to add tens of thousands of workers to meet production plans and new orders. These figures reflect the trend of recovery and expansion of production and business activities of enterprises immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday.

The recruitment structure shows that the foreign-invested enterprise sector plays a leading role in job creation. Of the total recruitment needs in February 2026, FDI enterprises require 16,251 workers, while non-state enterprises need more than 3,000 workers.

By sector, the manufacturing industry continues to lead the labor market, accounting for almost all recruitment needs, with over 19,000 job openings. Of these, the electrical and electronics industry needs approximately 10,710 workers, the textile and footwear industry needs over 6,400 workers, and the remainder are in other manufacturing sectors such as wood processing and supporting industries. Some other sectors such as construction and services are also starting to see increased recruitment demand, but the numbers remain modest.

Notably, unskilled labor continues to dominate the recruitment structure. Statistics show that there are 17,146 job positions that do not require degrees or professional certificates. Only 429 positions require university or postgraduate degrees, while 327 require college degrees and 212 require vocational training. This indicates that the current workforce needs of businesses are still primarily focused on direct production on industrial assembly lines.

Alongside the increased recruitment demand, activities connecting labor supply and demand have also been intensified. In February 2026, the Nghe An Provincial Employment Service Center organized 13 job fairs, attracting 32 businesses and 869 job seekers.

Mr. Tran Huu Thuong, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Employment Service Center, said that the sharp increase in recruitment demand at the beginning of the year is a regular trend, but 2026 saw a significant increase due to many businesses securing orders early and expanding their production scale. The Center is strengthening the organization of regular and mobile job fairs at local facilities to help workers access recruitment information more quickly, while also supporting businesses in finding suitable human resources.

Although job opportunities are abundant, the labor market still faces certain challenges. The majority of job seekers are unskilled laborers, while some businesses tend to recruit skilled workers or those with experience in industrial environments. This disparity necessitates enhanced vocational training and career guidance to better meet actual needs.

With tens of thousands of job openings registered since the beginning of the year and demand expected to remain high in the coming period, the labor market in Nghe An is showing a positive start. This is not only an opportunity for workers to find stable jobs but also contributes to helping businesses quickly recover production, creating momentum for local economic growth in 2026.
