Vinh Stadium is the pride of Nghe An people simply because this is the place that has witnessed all the ups and downs throughout the glorious history of Nghe An football. On the other hand, it is also a representative image of the intense love of football of the hometown fans.

About 20 years ago, every time SLNA played, Vinh Stadium, with a capacity of nearly 20,000 spectators, became overloaded, especially during important matches.

At that time, before the match took place, people from the districts flocked to Vinh city. Then they gathered to parade through the streets, creating a bustling festival atmosphere with overwhelming momentum.

However, the images of Vinh Stadium packed with spectators are now just memories.

When the club could not attract much investment and could not retain its excellent stars, SLNA had to let them leave instead of dedicating themselves to their beloved homeland. After the V.League Championship Cup in 2011, the number of spectators coming to the stadium decreased, as SLNA gradually lost its identity and ambition.

Typically, in the 2017 season, the image of empty stands at Vinh Stadium became very familiar. And in stand B, there were only a few youth teams coming to cheer on their seniors.

In the second leg, SLNA has somewhat demonstrated the fiery style of play typical of Nghe An in the past. From 12th place at the end of the first leg, they have now climbed to 8th place in the rankings. In addition, in the first leg, SLNA only scored 11 goals and won exactly 2 matches, but in this second leg, there have only been 11 rounds, but the team has won 5 matches and scored 18 goals.

In the National Cup, SLNA reached the final and won 2-1 against Binh Duong in the first leg at Go Dau Stadium. However, SLNA only received support from the audience when playing away, but when returning to their home field, everything was the same.

According to information from the club, to show gratitude to home fans, avoid possible ticket scalping and create maximum conditions for students to watch football for free, SLNA Club has decided to open stands B, C, D of Vinh Stadium for free in the second leg of the National Cup final against Binh Duong.
