Da Nang starts construction of new international passenger terminal

On the morning of November 15, the Ministry of Transport and the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the international passenger terminal at Da Nang International Airport.

The project "Construction of international passenger terminal of Da Nang International Airport" has a total investment of more than 3,500 billion VND, invested by Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT).

The terminal is built on a 21,000 m2 campus, with a linear design similar to the current terminal. The terminal includes 2 separate departure and arrival levels, 40 airline check-in counters, 42 immigration counters, 10 aircraft gates, of which 4 are telescopic gates and 6 are bus gates...

The multi-level road section ensures 2 lanes and 1 stopping lane, the car park and the internal port traffic meet nearly 440 parking spaces. The terminal is expected to have a capacity of 4 to 6 million passengers/year when completed, serving 1,600 passengers/peak hour. After the new terminal is completed, the current terminal will become a domestic terminal.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat directed investors and contractors to speed up construction progress so that the terminal can be completed in time to welcome international visitors to the APEC Conference taking place in 2017 in Da Nang city.

The project will be a premise to attract domestic and foreign airlines to participate in exploiting domestic and international routes, contributing to attracting foreign investment, creating momentum for development in the Central region./.
