The body of a male student swept away by floodwaters has been found.
(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on October 3, the authorities of Quy Hop district found the body of NVC (born 2008) residing in Cong village, Chau Hong commune, after nearly 3 days of being swept away by floodwaters.
As previously reported, at around 1 - 1:30 a.m. on October 1, two students from Quy Hop III High School, NVC (born in 2008) residing in Cong village, Chau Hong commune and Luong Minh H (born in 2007) residing in Ha Dong hamlet, Chau Cuong commune, were riding an electric bike from Quy Hop town to Muong Ham village, Chau Cuong commune. When they reached the middle of Muong Ham overflow bridge, due to heavy rain, flood water overflowed and flowed rapidly, causing both of them to slip and fall. The electric bike and the two students were then swept away by the water. Luong Minh H. was lucky to swim to shore, while NVC was swept away by the flood.

Upon receiving the news, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quy Hop District mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers of the District Military Command, District Police, militia, commune teams and people to the scene to search for victims along the stream from Muong Ham overflow bridge in Chau Cuong commune to Dinh bridge in Nghia Xuan commune. In recent days, the river water level has remained high, so the authorities have encountered many difficulties in the search.
After nearly 3 days of searching, at noon today, the body of NVC was found by authorities on the bank of Dinh River, flowing through Lien Tan hamlet, Tho Hop commune, about 10 km from the accident site.
