Highlights of the 2019 Lotus Village Festival closing program

On the evening of May 19, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City, the 2019 Lotus Village Festival Closing Ceremony took place.

Solemn and lively

After 4 days (from May 16 to 19), the 2019 Sen Village Festival was a great success. The festival aims to honor the ideological, moral and cultural values ​​of President Ho Chi Minh, the culture of Sen Village - the countryside where he was born and nurtured the personality of Nguyen Tat Thanh in his youth.

At the same time, continue to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; continue to affirm the important position of the Sen Village Festival in the consciousness of every Vietnamese person.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the ceremonial activities ensured solemnity, exploited traditional folk festival forms and mobilized a large number of people to participate.

An important part of the ceremony is the opening of the Festival, which was solemnly and grandly held at 8:00 p.m. on May 17 at Sen Village Stadium; the art program in the opening ceremony was invested in by the Organizing Committee in terms of content and script with the theme "Uncle Ho's words light the way we go".

Regarding the festival, the focus of the Sen Village Festival is the “Sen Village Singing Festival” with the theme “Nghe An forever echoes His words” at the Kim Lien Relic Site, with the participation of nearly 300 actors, artists, and musicians from 9 districts, cities, and towns. This activity attracts the attention and enjoyment of many delegations visiting Uncle Ho’s hometown on the occasion of the 129th anniversary of his birth.

The highlight of this festival is that all units have carefully prepared, the content closely follows the theme of Uncle Ho and Sen village, the 50th anniversary of implementing Uncle Ho's Testament, the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh trail. Many performances have innovated in the way of staging in the direction of searching and creating from script building, choreography, music arrangement, to costumes and props, so the artistic quality is quite even.

The important highlights in the series of activities to celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday this year include the national-scale exhibitions: Artistic photography festival of the North Central region; Nghe Viet mascot exhibition; Large-scale propaganda painting exhibition on the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh trail - Tradition of Truong Son troops; Exhibition "Simple but noble examples".

Regarding sports activities, there are 2 sports selected for competition: Volleyball and Traditional Martial Arts, gathering 350 athletes from 15 delegations and units, competing for 39 sets of medals.

In the beauty contest of the Sen Village Festival, after 3 rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 15 contestants for the final round. In addition, the Festival also had activities: Propaganda car competition; Youth camp; photo exhibition and film screening on the topic of Uncle Ho; organizing folk games that created highlights and a vibrant atmosphere for the Festival.

Spread and crystallize spiritual and cultural values

During the closing night, there were 8 selected performances from the “Lotus Village Singing Festival” and performances by 15 finalists of the Miss Lotus Festival contest.

At the end, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the competitions taking place at the Sen Village Festival. Specifically, at the "Sen Village Singing Festival", the Yen Thanh District Mass Art Team won the first prize; the second prize went to the Thanh Chuong and Do Luong teams and the third prize went to the Dien Chau, Quynh Luu and Vinh City teams. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 7 A prizes, 7 B prizes, 7 C prizes and 7 Encouragement prizes for the performances.

At the Sports Competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Nam Dan district, the second prize to Vinh city and the third prize to Yen Thanh district.

In the propaganda car competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Thanh Chuong team, the second prize to Do Luong and Hung Nguyen teams, and the third prize to 5 teams.

In the Miss Lotus Festival contest, the first prize went to Trinh Thi Ha Thuong (Thai Hoa town); the second prizes went to Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh (Quynh Luu) and Nguyen Thi Dao (Hung Nguyen). In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 5 secondary prizes and encouragement prizes.

The Sen Village Festival originated from a local art festival but quickly spread and grew, becoming a cultural festival, meeting the people's need for creativity and enjoyment of cultural values. The cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Sen Village Festival are increasingly attached to and integrated into the flow of social life with the role of connecting the source of traditional culture and civilization of Nghe An with the whole country.
