Highlights of the Cuong Temple Festival

From March 11-15 (corresponding to February 12-16 in the lunar calendar), the Cuong Temple Festival takes place in Dien Chau, featuring many unique cultural activities that attract visitors from all over.

Cuong Temple is a beautiful and sturdy architectural structure, well-suited to the natural surroundings. The temple has a three-part architectural style, consisting of a triple gate and three main halls: the Upper, Middle, and Lower halls.

In 1995, cranes flew back to Cuong Temple, exactly...the opening day of the temple festivalDuring the 1996 festival, a dead whale washed ashore at Cua Hien beach. Locals believed that the returning crane was the reincarnation of Princess My Chau, and the dead whale washed ashore was proof of the tragic self-sacrifice of King An Duong Vuong.

During the festival days, the area around the foot of Mo Da Mountain and the festival grounds attract a large number of locals and tourists from all over to participate.

The festival section was vibrant with cultural, artistic, and sporting activities including a folk art performance, a gala music night "Homecoming Day," men's and women's volleyball, folk games, promotion of characteristic OCOP products, and traditional folk games such as: throwing the ball, carousel, wrestling, cockfighting, crossbow shooting, chess, card games, etc.

Besides the vibrant and captivating festivities, at the 2025 Cuong Temple Festival, people and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy and admire a unique spiritual and cultural space with eight traditional rituals such as: the procession of General Cao Lo from the Cao family church in Dien Tho commune to Xuan Ai communal house, the procession of the King and Princess, the Grand Sacrifice, the Thanksgiving ceremony… all aimed at praying for favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and peace, prosperity, and happiness for all people.
