Highlights of Cuong Temple Festival
From March 11-15 (February 12-16 of the lunar calendar), Cuong Temple Festival takes place in Dien Chau with many unique cultural activities, attracting tourists from all over.
Cuong Temple is a beautiful, solid architectural work, suitable for natural conditions. The temple has a Tam-shaped architecture, including a three-door gate, three upper, middle and lower halls.
In 1995, the crane flew to Cuong temple, rightopening day of temple festival; During the festival in 1996, a dead whale washed up on Cua Hien beach. People believe that the crane is the incarnation of Princess My Chau; the dead whale washed up on the beach is proof of the tragic suicide of An Duong Vuong.
During the festival days, around the area at the foot of Mo Da mountain, the festival grounds attract a large number of people and tourists from all over to attend.
The festival was bustling with cultural, artistic and sports activities including mass art performances, the "Return Day" music gala, men's and women's volleyball, folk games, promotion of typical OCOP products, traditional folk games such as: throwing con, swing, wrestling, cockfighting, crossbow shooting, Chinese chess, card chess...
Besides the excitement and attraction of the festival, coming to the Cuong Temple Festival in 2025, people and tourists will enjoy and worship a unique spiritual cultural space of 8 traditional rituals such as: The procession of General Cao Lo from the Cao family temple in Dien Tho commune to Xuan Ai communal house, the procession of the King and Princess, the Great Ceremony, the Thanksgiving Ceremony... to pray for favorable weather, good crops, peace, prosperity and happiness for all people.
