Representatives of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council meet with voters in Do Luong.
Provincial People's Council representatives received and addressed many voters' opinions within their authority, and compiled legitimate voters' opinions to be submitted to the upcoming Provincial People's Council session and forwarded to relevant departments for consideration and resolution.
On the morning of May 22nd, delegates of the Provincial People's Council, including Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Hoang Van Hiep - Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Luong District; Mr. Tran Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Hanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Son Commune, met with voters in Dong Son Commune, Do Luong District, before the mid-year regular session of the 18th Provincial People's Council in 2025.
Representatives of the Provincial People's Council informed voters about the planned content and program of the mid-year 2025 session of the Provincial People's Council, scheduled to take place from July 9-10, 2025. The session will consider 27 reports and is expected to pass 17 important resolutions related to socio-economic development, national defense and security, and people's welfare issues of the province. Provincial People's Council representatives also presented a summary of the province's socio-economic situation in the first five months of 2025 and the results of addressing voter requests from Do Luong district at the end-of-year 2024 session.
In a democratic and frank manner, nine voters spoke, offering many practical opinions and suggestions. Voters raised concerns about the unsafe construction of the Trang Minh bridge, noting accidents that have occurred, and requested corrective measures; they also proposed support for vulnerable groups and those with incomes below the poverty line; and suggested clear and appropriate policies for part-time and non-part-time officials.
Many voters suggested that Nghe An province should soon build a crematorium; increase the irrigation fee subsidy; apply a unified electricity price for water pumping activities of cooperatives; encourage businesses to invest in and develop agricultural production chains; pay attention to the budget for the activities of youth union branches and associations in hamlets and villages; strictly punish officials who violate regulations; strengthen control over substandard food; plan and expand the Trang Minh road through Dong Son, Hong Son, and Trang Son communes; and increase compensation for agricultural land acquisition.
On behalf of the Provincial People's Council delegation, Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam and Mr. Hoang Van Hiep directly discussed and clarified several issues of concern to voters regarding the arrangement and consolidation of the administrative apparatus of communes after mergers; ensuring the lighting system on roads; supporting victims in the Trang Minh bridge construction area; social welfare policies; construction of a crematorium; adjustment of irrigation fee subsidies; ensuring food safety; costs for the activities of grassroots organizations; and handling complaints and denunciations...
Provincial People's Council delegates affirmed that they will fully compile all legitimate opinions and recommendations of voters to report at the upcoming session of the Provincial People's Council, as well as forward them to competent authorities for consideration and resolution in accordance with regulations.
* On the afternoon of May 22nd, continuing the program before the mid-year regular session of the 18th Provincial People's Council in 2025, the provincial People's Council delegates, including Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Dinh Toan - Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council; and Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Hanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Trung Son commune, held a meeting with voters in Bach Ngoc commune, Do Luong district.
During the meeting, held in a democratic and open atmosphere, 10 voters participated, raising many pressing issues affecting people's lives. Voters requested investment in upgrading the drainage system in Lam Son commune to effectively serve agricultural production; they also proposed planning and constructing a wastewater drainage system suitable to the local context.
Many people have expressed concerns about the serious deterioration of transportation routes such as Provincial Road 534 and Lam Giang Road; the prolonged upgrading work is causing traffic congestion and significantly affecting people's travel.
Some voters expressed a desire to expedite the completion of the Bach Ngoc Secondary School project to meet the educational needs of their children; they proposed policies to support people affected by natural disasters and epidemics; and some households whose livestock have suffered from lumpy skin disease and foot-and-mouth disease since 2019 have not yet received support.
Some voters suggested strengthening quality control of agricultural supplies and supporting production, as in some areas there have been cases of rice plants failing to produce grains and peanuts failing to produce tubers. Issues related to policies and regulations were also raised, such as increasing allowances for militia forces, resolving benefits for former commune People's Committee officials, and addressing outstanding cases of war veterans and disabled soldiers.
After listening to the opinions and suggestions of the voters, representatives of the People's Committee of Do Luong District, the People's Committee of Bach Ngoc Commune, and the Military Command of Do Luong District acknowledged and directly responded to some issues within their authority.
On behalf of the provincial People's Council delegates, Mr. Ngoc Kim Nam directly discussed and answered several issues of concern to voters regarding policies and regulations in the fields of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; the payment of allowances to youth union branches and associations; the handling and repair of degraded transportation routes; and the payment of allowances to militia and self-defense forces... The remaining recommendations were recorded and compiled by the provincial People's Council delegation to be reported at the upcoming session and forwarded to relevant functional agencies for consideration and resolution according to regulations.
