(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 24th, delegates of the 18th term of the Provincial People's Council elected in Do Luong and Yen Thanh districts held a meeting with voters.

In Hien Son commune (Do Luong district),Delegate Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department - met with voters in Hien Son commune.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Dinh Toan, Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council, announced the planned program and content of the 2nd session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026; presented a summary report on the province's socio-economic situation in the first six months of 2021, and key tasks and solutions for the last six months of 2021; and reported on the results of the opinions and recommendations of voters before and after the 17th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021, emphasizing the responses of relevant provincial agencies to the opinions of voters in Do Luong district.

During the meeting, 11 opinions were raised by voters in Hien Son commune regarding issues such as: attracting investment for economic development in the commune; damage to the Ba Thi dam and its sluice gates; and the need for a bottom discharge system at the Bau Moi dam located in Hien Son and My Son communes.

Voters also expressed concerns about people living in the southern provinces returning home amidst the complicated Covid-19 situation. In addition, issues such as: a shortage of classrooms at Do Luong 4 High School; the need for timely upgrading and construction of the Khuon - Dai Son road; the problem of overloaded and oversized vehicles causing public dissatisfaction; low salaries for youth organizations and associations; social insurance contributions for cooks in kindergartens; health insurance cards for daughters-in-law of martyrs; and difficulties in agricultural production due to flooding during heavy rains and poor drainage systems were also raised by voters.

Responding to voters' feedback, representatives from relevant agencies and district leaders addressed issues within their jurisdiction.

Speaking at the meeting, delegate Ngoc Kim Nam - Standing Committee member and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department - highly appreciated Do Luong district's successful implementation of investment attraction projects. The district also needs to study expanding canals that both drain and retain water. Regarding concerns from people in the South about returning home while the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department stated that authorities will manage the situation very strictly, and people need to strictly adhere to the "5K" guidelines.

Regarding the issue of cultural centers being both redundant and cramped after the hamlet merger, the commune needs to survey potential new locations, submit them to the district for approval, and then compile a report to send to the province. The upgrading of the Khuon - Dai Son road has been included in the medium-term project; the District People's Committee must urgently review the documents so that construction and upgrading can begin in early 2022. Regarding environmental management, the province has already developed a plan for its implementation.

Regarding some of the issues raised by voters, provincial People's Council representatives will make recommendations to relevant departments and present them at the upcoming provincial People's Council session.

In Trung Thanh commune, representatives of the Provincial People's Council informed voters about the socio-economic development and security and defense situation of the province in the first six months of 2021; and approved the proposed agenda for the second session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.

During the meeting, voters in Trung Thanh commune frankly reflected on many existing problems and limitations in the locality regarding state management of food safety and private medical and pharmaceutical businesses; some flood drainage system upgrade projects were deemed unsuitable, especially in the Bau Roc area of ​​Trung Thanh commune; and there were inadequacies in the reduction of staff positions in veterinary services and the commune's radio station.

Voters also requested that the Provincial People's Committee continue to provide cement support mechanisms for the construction of advanced new rural communes; and that consideration and support be given to testing samples from workers in centralized quarantine, as well as rapid Covid-19 testing at medical facilities.

In Tho Thanh commune,Six opinions focused on issues such as: the excessively high starting price for land auctions in rural areas; the need to support localities in upgrading water treatment plants; policies and regulations for part-time commune-level officials after hamlet mergers; and addressing policies and regulations for people with meritorious service to the revolution, especially housing support policies for people with meritorious service to the revolution as stipulated in Decision 22/2013/QĐ-TTg dated April 26, 2013, of the Prime Minister.

After listening to the voters' opinions, the leaders of Yen Thanh district explained the voters' concerns within their jurisdiction and proposed several solutions for the future.

On behalf of the delegation, delegates Bui Thanh An and Dang Thanh Tung received the voters' opinions and clarified some issues within their authority. The delegates promised to convey the suggestions and proposals to the Provincial People's Council at the upcoming session.
