A National Assembly representative from Nghe An province holds the position of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs.
Major General Tran Duc Thuan, a National Assembly delegate from Nghe An province, has been approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee to hold the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs, 15th term.

The announcement ceremony took place on the morning of October 10th at the National Assembly building. In Resolution No. 1861/NQ-UBTVQH15, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly approved the appointment of Major General Tran Duc Thuan – a National Assembly representative from Nghe An province and a full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs – as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs of the 15th National Assembly.
Major General Tran Duc Thuan was born on September 20, 1968, in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district (formerly Hung Nguyen commune, now Hung Nguyen district), Nghe An province. He holds a Master's degree in Law.
He began his studies and work in the Vietnam People's Army in 1986, as a cadet at the Artillery Officer School. During his career, he held various positions in Military Region 4, and also received training at Hanoi Law University and Hanoi College of Prosecution.
