Members of Parliament meet with voters in Cua Lo ward.

On May 5th, at the Thanh Cong Cultural Center, the National Assembly delegates elected in constituency No. 4 of the 16th term, including Major General Luong Dinh Hung – Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law Enforcement and Mr. Tran Nhat Minh – a full-time National Assembly delegate from the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, met with voters in Cua Lo ward following the first session of the National Assembly. Representatives from various departments, agencies, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation, and the Provincial People's Council also attended.

On the local side, attendees included Mr. Ngo Duc Kien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Cua Lo Ward; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh An - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; along with other members of the Party Committee Standing Committee, representatives from various departments and units, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cua Lo Ward, representatives from the former Thu Thuy, Nghi Thuy, and Nghi Tan wards, and a large number of voters from the ward.

At the meeting, Major General Luong Dinh Hung, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard's Law Enforcement Department, informed the voters about the results of the first session of the 16th National Assembly. Following this, a representative from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward presented a summary of the voters' recommendations submitted to the session.

Voters expressed their enthusiasm for the success of the election, while also appreciating the innovative spirit and responsibility of the National Assembly. In addition, voters frankly raised many opinions and suggestions related to issues affecting people's lives.

In particular, the issue of delayed and prolonged projects, causing frustration, has received special attention. A prime example is the Golden City Resort Cua Lo project – one of the prominent "stalled projects" in the area, which has remained undeveloped for nearly 10 years after receiving its permit. Despite its prime location in the northern part of Lan Chau Island and its scale of over 9 hectares, the project has repeatedly missed its deadline (expected completion in Q4/2019) and remains virtually inactive to this day.

In addition, voters also expressed concerns about several shortcomings in the design of the Cua Lo port ring road; the implementation of policies and regulations for people with meritorious service; the situation of contract teachers who have not been paid their salaries for nearly 5 months; the management of public assets; the dilapidated public address system that has not been repaired; the illogical house numbering system; and issues related to land and the environment…

Representatives from various departments and agencies, along with the leaders of Cua Lo ward, received and addressed issues within their jurisdiction. Mr. Tran Nhat Minh, a full-time National Assembly representative from the Provincial Delegation, further clarified some recommendations and compiled issues beyond their authority to report to the National Assembly and relevant agencies for consideration and resolution.
