Members of Parliament meet with voters in Quan Thanh commune.
On the morning of December 23, the delegation of National Assembly representatives from Nghe An province held a meeting with voters in Quan Thanh commune following the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Attending the meeting with constituents were National Assembly representatives: Mr. Pham Phu Binh - National Assembly representative working full-time on the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs; Ms. Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment. Also present were representatives from the leadership of provincial departments and agencies.
During the meeting, representatives of the National Assembly delegation informed voters about the results of the 10th session. During its 15th term, the National Assembly considered and passed many important laws and resolutions related to socio-economic development, national defense and security, and people's lives; it also conducted questioning and supervision on many issues of concern to voters nationwide.
Voters in Quan Thanh commune expressed their confidence and enthusiasm regarding the success of the session and the important decisions of the National Assembly aimed at creating momentum to promote economic and social development in the era of national progress.
In a democratic and frank spirit, the conference recorded 9 opinions and suggestions from voters, focusing on 15 groups of issues such as: Requesting the National Assembly and the Government to pay more attention to and have more appropriate investment policies in agriculture to comprehensively develop the "three rural issues" policy, and to build large-scale model fields in a modern direction.
When implementing the two-tiered government system, the state did not have a policy to provide financial support to villages; currently, the salary for commune-level officials is still low and not commensurate with the workload they have to undertake.
Voters suggest that the State needs to pay more attention to supporting and resolving difficulties in implementing policies and regulations for meritorious individuals and part-time officials at the grassroots level during the restructuring process.
Voters' opinions reflect difficulties in implementing the two-tiered local government model. Currently, the commune level has three specialized departments, but the workload of these departments is too large. They propose splitting these specialized departments to better address the specific needs of each field.
Following the merger, the offices of commune-level agencies are scattered and fragmented in various locations. We request that the State provide financial support to build centralized offices for Party, government, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations to facilitate citizens in carrying out related administrative procedures.
The central government needs to invest more in improving the irrigation system; support investment in rural clean water; and address inadequacies in infrastructure and management of tutoring centers...
Voters requested that higher authorities pay attention to and expand the opening of the Bau Roc flood drainage culvert on National Highway 7B section passing through Quan Thanh commune to avoid flooding during heavy rains; the decentralization and coordination between the Fatherland Front and other organizations still face many difficulties; along with a number of issues affecting people's lives such as household electricity, the price of materials after the meter, and the quality of essential services.
At the conference, the leaders of Quan Thanh commune People's Committee directly answered voters' questions on several issues within their jurisdiction. Representatives from various departments and agencies also clarified some of the voters' concerns within their authority.
On behalf of the National Assembly delegation, Ms. Thai Thi An Chung – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation – directly discussed, clarified, and answered the voters' opinions; and affirmed that the Delegation would seriously consider, fully compile, and forward them to the National Assembly, the Government, and relevant ministries and agencies for consideration and resolution within their authority.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Hoang Thi Nhan in Hoa Tham hamlet; and visited and presented gifts to Ms. Dang Thi Xao, a type 1 victim of chemical warfare, in Hamlet 5, Quan Thanh commune.
The delegation of National Assembly representatives from Nghe An province also We came to present gifts and congratulations to Lam Xuyen Parish on the occasion of Christmas 2025, sending wishes of peace and happiness to the priest, clergy, officials, and parishioners, wishing them a warm and joyful Christmas season.
