Ecuadorian representative crowned Miss Earth, Nam Em stops at top 8
Due to the unsatisfactory performance in the question and answer round, Vietnam's representative - Nguyen Le Nam Em - stopped at Top 8. The Ecuadorian beauty was crowned Miss Earth 2016.
The Miss Earth 2016 finale took place on the afternoon of October 29 (Vietnam time) in Manila, Philippines. More than 80 contestants competed to find the owner of the crown. The winner will receive the crown from Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong.
At around 6pm, the show began with a lively performance by the contestants to lively music. Interspersed with this performance was a brief introduction of each contestant. As usual, Nam Em was among the last group of contestants to step onto the stage.

Immediately after that, the MC announced some of the competition's secondary awards. The representative of Vietnam, Nguyen Le Nam Em, was in the top 3 community projects along with the beauties of Ukraine and Moldova. But she was not lucky enough to win. The award went to the representative of Moldova.
Next was the announcement of the top 16 list, including representatives from Vietnam, Colombia, South Korea, Venezuela, England, Northern Ireland, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Macau, South Africa, Ecuador, Australia, Sweden, America, and Italy. Miss Philippines, the host country, did not make it into the top 16.

In the swimsuit competition of the top 16, the contestants did not perform in alphabetical order like other competitions. Therefore, Nam Em performed in the middle group. Miss Mekong Delta 2015 confidently and radiantly strode on stage. 1.73 m tall with three measurements of 85-60-90.
Before the final, Nguyen Le Nam Em was predicted to be in the top 8. Her achievements include two silver medals in the talent and evening gown competitions, and the Miss Photogenic award.

The top 5 highly rated contestants include representatives from Venezuela, Sweden, the US, Australia and Denmark. Meanwhile, other contestants from Asia such as the Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar are not on the list.
According to the beauty website Missosology, Venezuelan beauty Stephanie de Zorzi is the most anticipated contestant this year. She was sent to compete in Miss Earth 2014 but was disqualified at the last minute because she gained weight.
The Top 8 were announced right after the evening gown competition, including beauties from Vietnam, Venezuela, Russia, Sweden, USA, Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador.
Nam Em was the first contestant to take the behavioral test. She had a little trouble because the interpreter did not understand the question, forcing the MC to repeat the question.
However, she remained calm and answered briefly in Vietnamese: "The ability to create change is to always try your best, believe in what you have done and achieved."
After the question and answer round, the two MCs announced the top 4 including Ecuador, Brazil, Venezuela, and Colombia. Nguyen Le Nam Em did not have the chance to advance further in the competition.
With a skillful response, the representative of Ecuador was crowned Miss Earth 2016. Katherine Espin, 23 years old, is 1.72 m tall and has measurements of 89-60-93.
Other titles of Miss Earth 2016 include Miss Fire: Brazil, Miss Water: Venezuela, Miss Air: Colombia.
