The Party Congress of Nam Giang Commune (Nam Dan District) for the term 2020-2025

On June 27th, the Party Committee of Nam Giang commune held its 28th Congress of Delegates for the 2020-2025 term.

The political report of the 27th Party Committee presented to the congress affirmed that: over the past five years, the Party Committee and people of Nam Giang commune have united and strived to overcome difficulties, achieving important results.

Notably, the economy continued to grow at a fairly strong pace, with an estimated average growth rate of 11.15% during the 2016-2020 period.

The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, increasing the proportion of services and decreasing the proportion of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries from 33.1% in 2016 to 26.9% in 2020; industry and construction from 43.7% in 2016 to 36.0% in 2020; and services from 16% in 2016 to 37.1% in 2020. Average per capita income is estimated to reach 50 million VND/year by the end of 2020.

The socio-cultural sector has seen many positive changes, with stable school sizes and all three schools meeting national standards. The movement for national unity in building a cultured life, as well as cultural, artistic, and sports activities, has increasingly developed, and the people's cultural and spiritual lives have been significantly improved. The percentage of cultured households reached 85%; the percentage of cultured hamlets reached 75%.

Significant progress has been made in poverty reduction. In 2016, the commune had 57 poor households, accounting for 3.47%, while by the beginning of 2020, this number had decreased to 27 poor households, representing 1.55% (a reduction of 1.92% or 30 households). The material and spiritual lives of farmers have improved; political security, order, and social safety have been strengthened.

The social mobilization efforts for building new rural areas during the 2015-2019 period yielded positive results, with people contributing over 8 billion VND, contributing to the construction of increasingly clean, beautiful, and well-maintained rural roads in the commune, and completing the construction of a new rural commune as set out in the Resolution of the Party Congress. The work of building the Party, government, and organizations within the political system has seen many positive changes.

With the theme "Enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee, promoting the strength of national unity, ensuring national defense and security, mobilizing all resources, and resolutely building Nam Giang commune into a model new rural commune by 2023," the Resolution of the 28th Party Congress of Nam Giang commune for the 2020-2025 term sets out 23 targets in various fields.

The Congress demonstrates its determination to build upon the achievements made, with a spirit of unity, democracy, innovation, creativity, and discipline; to overcome difficulties, unleash potential and advantages, and strive to excellently fulfill the goals and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the Party Congress of Nam Giang commune; to transform Nam Giang commune into a model new rural commune, and to build a comprehensively and sustainably developed, prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland of Nam Giang.

At the Congress, the number of members of the Executive Committee of the Nam Giang Commune Party Committee for the 28th term (2020-2025) was unanimously agreed upon at 15, with 13 members elected at the Congress. At the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Nam Giang Commune Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Comrade Dang Hoang Linh was re-elected to continue serving as Secretary of the Nam Giang Commune Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
