On the morning of May 19th, the Yen Thanh District Party Congress continued its final day of work. The Congress announced the results of the first session of the Yen Thanh District Party Committee's Executive Committee, 27th term, 2020-2025.

At its first meeting, the Executive Committee of the Yen Thanh District Party Committee elected 13 comrades to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Comrade Nguyen Viet Hung - Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term and Chairman of the District People's Council - was re-elected to the position of Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The District Party Committee also elected two Deputy Secretaries of the District Party Committee: Comrade Nguyen Quy Linh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; and Comrade Phan Van Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Danh Tue was elected to the position of Chairman of the District Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

Subsequently, the Congress elected 19 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

The Congress also adopted a summary of the opinions and suggestions discussed on the documents submitted to the Congress and the draft Action Program for implementing the Congress Resolution.

The Congress adopted the Resolution of the 27th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025. The Resolution endorsed the basic contents regarding the assessment of the situation over the past five years of implementing the Resolution of the 26th District Party Congress and the direction, objectives, tasks, and solutions for the 2020-2025 term as presented in the political report submitted to the Congress. The Congress resolved on 32 key targets to be achieved by 2025 in the Resolution.

SOME KEY TARGETS BY 2025

- Average economic growth rate over 5 years: 9.6-10.6%

- Average per capita income: 75-80 million VND/person/year.

- State budget revenue in the area: 480-500 billion VND.

- Total social investment capital: 15,500 - 16,500 billion VND.

- Regarding new rural development: 40-45% of communes meet the criteria for advanced new rural development; 3-5 communes achieve the model new rural development standard.

ButThe poverty rate decreased by 0.8 – 1.2% annually.

But90% or more of grassroots Party organizations performed their duties well, with 20% achieving outstanding performance.

- The government, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations are recognized by higher authorities as having performed their duties well or better, with at least 50% achieving outstanding performance; the district Party committee is recognized as having performed its duties well or better.

The resolution also adopted the Report on the review of the leadership and direction of the District Party Committee's Executive Committee, 26th term; the summary report of opinions from Party organizations at all levels and various strata of the people in the district contributing to the draft documents submitted to the 13th National Congress of the Party; and the documents of the 19th Provincial Party Congress. It also approved the results of the election of the District Party Committee's Executive Committee, 27th term; and the delegation to attend the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

In his closing remarks at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Viet Hung – Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Council – assessed that the 27th Congress of the Yen Thanh District Party Committee, for the 2020-2025 term, had successfully completed all the planned contents and programs.

The Congress Resolution was adopted, affirming the high political determination of the Party Committee, government, and people of the district in the coming term to achieve the overall goal of: building a clean and strong Party and political system, promoting democracy, strengthening unity, accelerating innovation, effectively exploiting potential and resources, comprehensively developing the economy and society, ensuring national defense and security, building advanced and model new rural areas, and bringing Yen Thanh to rapid and sustainable development.

According to the Secretary of the Yen Thanh District Party Committee: The success of the Congress is only the first step in the journey ahead. To achieve the goals and tasks set forth in the Congress Resolution, immediately after the Congress, Party committees, Party organizations, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and the people must effectively organize the study, understanding, and widespread dissemination of the Resolution and other documents of the Congress to every cadre, Party member, union member, and citizen throughout the district.

At the same time, specific programs and action plans should be developed to implement the program, quickly bringing the Resolution into practice, creating strong and effective changes in all fields, right from the first months and years of the five-year plan (2021-2025).

"The Congress calls upon all cadres, Party members, and people of all walks of life in the district, as well as the children of Yen Thanh studying and working in all parts of the country and abroad, to continue to uphold the fine traditions, promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-strength, unity, and creativity, overcome all difficulties, strive to compete and successfully implement the Resolution of the 27th District Party Congress, and bring about rapid and sustainable development for the district, worthy of being the heroic rice district," Comrade Nguyen Viet Hung stated.
