This is the first time in Vietnam that an international event on tattooing has been organized, with the aim of bringing the art of tattooing "into the light," helping the public better understand this art form that has long been stigmatized as belonging to the "underground world."

The International Tattoo Convention 2016, an international-scale tattoo art exchange program, will be held for the first time in Hanoi on June 23rd and 24th, 2016 at the Quan Ngua General Sports Complex.

The congress will bring together leading tattoo artists from Vietnam and around the world, with activities celebrating the art of tattooing. This is the first time in Vietnam that an international event on tattooing has been organized, aiming to bring the art of tattooing "into the light," helping the public better understand an art form that has long been stigmatized as belonging to the "underground world."

Tattoo artists in Vietnam hope that the public will have a correct understanding of this art form.

At this Congress, world-renowned tattoo artists will be present, including the head of the judging panel, Mr. Diau An Master, an international master of tattoo art with 35 years of experience, and nearly one hundred famous names from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the Philippines, and more.

Artists will showcase stunning tattoo performances in various styles, including black and white and color. The Queen of Tattoo award, worth 50 million VND, will be given to the female artist with the most impressive tattoo.

The convention is not only a playground for tattoo artists but also a destination for tattoo art lovers nationwide. Networking activities with artists through mini-games throughout the program and over one hundred booths offering tattoo services will provide a brand new experience for visitors. Here, viewers will have the chance to get high-quality tattoos and win many attractive prizes.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, one of the judges of the tattoo competition at this Congress and also a renowned tattoo artist in Vietnam, shared: "The time when people with tattoos were stigmatized by society is over. People now have a fairer view of the art of tattooing."

Young people are more free and expressive through tattoos on their bodies. But above all, we want to provide knowledge about tattooing, modern and safe tattooing technology, so that anyone can feel confident when engaging in this art form, and so that it is not just a fleeting trend among young people.”
