Indian Ambassador performs Yoga demonstration in Cua Lo
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 2nd, at Binh Minh Square in Cua Lo town, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of India in Vietnam, organized a celebration of International Yoga Day 2017.

On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as International Yoga Day. The 3rd International Yoga Day in Vietnam took place from June 17th to July 2nd, 2017, in nine provinces and cities across the country: Vinh Phuc, Nghe An, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Long An, Dong Nai, and Can Tho.
"International Yoga Day" in Vietnam is a program within the series of events celebrating the Vietnam-India Friendship Year, commemorating 45 years of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership between the two countries. It is an opportunity for those interested in yoga in Vietnam to meet, interact, and exchange experiences about this physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated thousands of years ago.

During the commemorative ceremony, His Excellency Parvathaneni Harish, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam, stated: Yoga is a gift from India to all of humanity, guiding us towards a better life and maximizing our potential in today's world. Yoga can bring about positive change towards harmony, peace, and tranquility in the world. Today, yoga is also helping to unite humanity, bringing us closer together.

Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Le Ngoc Hoa, emphasized: The yoga practice movement in Nghe An is developing strongly. Nghe An province is delighted that the Embassy of the Republic of India selected Nghe An as one of the nine provinces to host the commemoration ceremony. This demonstrates the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and India in general, and between Nghe An province and India in particular.
At the celebration, His Excellency Parvathaneni Harish, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam, along with 600 members of yoga clubs in the province, performed yoga demonstrations.
