British Ambassador conquers 70km of mountain road in Sa Pa

Giles Lever, British Ambassador to Vietnam, finished 4th in the 70km race of the international marathon held in Sa Pa, Lao Cai.

Starting at 4am on September 24, British Ambassador Giles Lever crossed the finish line after more than 10 hours of conquering a distance of 70km through many beautiful, wild hills, mountains and valleys in Sa Pa. This is not the first time the British Ambassador has participated in this race. Last year, heGiles Lever participated in the 42km.

The first to finish the 70km distance this year was a French tourist. This distance had more than 100 foreigners and Vietnamese participants, starting at dawn and gradually increasing the altitude on the journey, from nearly 1,000 m to 1,780 m with spectacular views of the Hoang Lien range and terraced fields turning the color of ripe rice.

This is a distance within the international marathon held annually in Sa Pa.This year, more than 1,500 people registered for the race, an increase of one and a half times compared to last year. The race also has other distances such as 10 km, 21 km, 42 km and for the first time, a 100 km race.
