The Chinese Ambassador to the US also stressed that there will always be differences between Beijing and Washington, but any differences should not be the reason for "confrontation and war", whether it is a cold war or a hot war. He affirmed that only mutual respect and understanding can control disagreements and help maintain Sino-US relations on the right track. He said that the zero-sum game is outdated. He called on Washington to abandon outdated thinking and to avoid falling into the trap, the best way is to "open a new path".
