Earlier, on the evening of May 10th, Pham Minh Luu (born in 1972, residing in Truong Tho Tay C residential area, Truong Quang Trong ward, Quang Ngai city) returned home after attending a memorial service and wanted his wife, Nguyen Thi H. (born in 1982), to sleep in the same bed with him. At that time, his wife was sleeping with their daughter and refused.

Angered, Mr. Lu went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife (30.5 cm long), and threatened his wife, who agreed... While his wife was lying on the bed, Mr. Lu sat beside her and tried to touch her, but she pushed his hand away. At this point, Mr. Lu grabbed the knife from the foot of the bed, but she snatched it back. After a struggle, Mr. Lu stabbed his wife three times in the thigh with the knife. Due to severed arteries and significant blood loss, Mrs. H died shortly afterward.
Upon receiving the report, the Truong Quang Trong Ward Police, in coordination with the Quang Ngai City Police and the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police, promptly searched for and apprehended the suspect and launched an investigation to clarify the case.
