US-Russia talks move to Moscow
Negotiations between the US and Russia to resolve issues in bilateral relations will move from Istanbul to Moscow, the new Russian Ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, told the state news agency TASS.

"The restoration of Russian-American relations still has a long way to go," Ambassador Darchiev told TASS, adding that the rapprochement with Moscow is being slowed down by the so-called US "deep state" and anti-Russian "hawks" in the US Congress.
"I can confirm that further negotiations between the delegations will take place in the very near future in Moscow," Mr Darchiev was quoted as saying.
The conflict in Ukraine has sparked the biggest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the height of the Cold War, with senior diplomats in both Moscow and Washington telling Reuters in 2024 that they could not remember a time when relations had been worse.
The administration of US President Donald Trump views the Ukraine conflict as a proxy war between the US and Russia, and Mr Trump has repeatedly warned of the risk of escalating into a world war.
