People are using dry bamboo and wooden planks to prop up exposed power lines that have fallen onto the street.
(Baonghean.vn) - For many years, residents of Hamlet 2, Quynh Hong Commune (Quynh Luu District - Nghe An Province) have lived in constant anxiety due to the unsafe and severely degraded overhead power lines.
The power line in neighborhood group number 9, village 2, Quynh Hong commune, is nearly 100 meters long and spans four poles. Previously, this power system was built with contributions from the villagers, but after a long period of use, it has now seriously deteriorated.

After being handed over to Quynh Luu Power Company for management, due to a lack of investment in upgrades, one power pole has collapsed, and the remaining three poles have cracked cement exposing the iron core. Of particular concern, many sections of the overhead power lines have exploded or sagged down onto the road, posing a safety hazard to residents.
To remedy this situation, the residents have temporarily used ropes to tie the wires together and erected bamboo poles. They have also used two wooden planks to secure the wires and prevent them from short-circuiting and causing electrical discharges.

Mr. Ho Huu Chau, a local resident, said: "We have repeatedly written petitions requesting the Quynh Luu power company to come down and inspect and repair the problem, and the power company has sent people down to inspect and confirm it, but it has still not been resolved."
Besides the anxiety and apprehension caused by unsafe and severely degraded power lines, the current rural development program, where after rural roads are built, leaves power poles in the middle of the road without being relocated, also poses a high risk of accidents for residents.

Given the current state of the dilapidated electrical system, residents of Hamlet 2, Quynh Hong Commune, earnestly hope that the relevant authorities and Quynh Luu Power Company will pay attention to upgrading the system and promptly replace the poles and re-insulate the bare wires so that people can live in peace and not be endangered, especially during storms.
