People suffer as roads turn into 'ponds' after the rain.

The road from Xuan Thanh commune to Dong Thanh commune, districtYen ThanhOver 8km long, the road has been severely damaged for a long time. The asphalt surface is deformed and almost completely peeled off. Especially during the rainy season, it is riddled with large and small puddles, causing great hardship for people traveling on this road in the commune and neighboring areas.

A resident living near this road said: "We suffer greatly living right next to this road. In the hot season, we have to keep our doors and windows closed all day because of the thick dust. On rainy days, the road becomes muddy and slippery, leading to many motorcycle accidents on this route."

The road connecting Xuan Thanh commune to Dong Thanh commune is a crucial transportation route for the development of the forest economy as well as the cultivation of fruit trees and raw materials. However, due to years of neglect and the frequent passage of heavy vehicles, the road has deteriorated significantly.

Mr. Phan Hoang Thu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Thanh commune, said: "This road is 8 km long, with 5 km passing through Xuan Thanh commune. Every year, the commune has to allocate funds, along with some support from the district, to repair potholes and large cracks, but after each rain, the road is damaged again. In the long term, Yen Thanh district is attracting investment to find funding to upgrade this severely degraded road."
