Tourists around the world have called the actions of Parisians at this time "humanity in times of trouble." Online, people are using the hashtag #PorteOuverte (The Doors Are Open) to offer shelter to thousands of tourists and civilians trapped in the city after the terrorist attacks on the evening of November 13th.
November 13th was dubbed "Black Friday" by people around the world, as terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, France. There were six shootings and three explosions in Paris, resulting in over 150 deaths and 60 injuries. One of the explosions took place near the Stade de France stadium, where a friendly football match between France and Germany was being held, attended by President Francois Hollande.
French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency across the country yesterday. He said the military had been deployed to support the police and ensure there were no further attacks.
