Based on the Galil ACE rifle production line transferred by Israel's IMI Group, Vietnam has successfully manufactured many types of modern infantry weapons.

The Z111 factory is currently operating a production line for modern infantry weapons using technology transferred from Israel, manufacturing versions of the Galil ACE assault rifle to meet the modernization needs of the Army.

Having mastered the entire process from A to Z, it is believed that, based on this production line, Vietnam can independently research and manufacture new or improved gun models, and produce many modern weapons based on foreign designs.

Based on cooperation with the Weapons Institute - General Department of Defense Industry, Factory Z111 has successfully produced many new infantry rifle models such as the STL-A1, which has been equipped with a Galil-style right-folding stock and two Picatinny rails on the receiver cover. This weapon bears some resemblance to an upgraded version of the AK-103.

In addition, there is the STL-15 submachine gun - a modified design of the PP-91 Bizon submachine gun currently in service with counter-terrorism forces and special units of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, with design elements strongly influenced by the Vietnamese defense industry, quite different from the original model.

The improved STL-A1 assault rifle and the STL-15 submachine gun are manufactured in Vietnam.

In addition to basic infantry weapons, Factory Z111 also went on to produce weapons requiring a very high level of technology, with the OSV-96 heavy sniper rifle being the most typical example.

The OSV-96 rifle, unveiled by Vietnam during Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh's working visit, has caused a stir among international military observers.

Foreign experts from forums like Defence.ru and Sina highly praised this weapon, stating that the Vietnamese army is on the right track towards modernization.

At the same time, they also admired the level of expertise of Vietnam's defense industry, as not every country has the capability to produce such a modern weapon.

Furthermore, it's worth mentioning that the officers of the Weapons Institute, specifically Colonel Bui Tuan Anh - the Director, successfully researched and developed the MGL-VN1 semi-automatic rotary grenade launcher, capable of continuously firing 40 mm grenades. Its firepower is significantly greater than that of the older M79, considerably enhancing squad-level firepower.

Finally, another unique weapon bearing the distinct mark of Vietnam is the 50 mm silenced mortar.

According to an announcement on the National Defense Television Channel, the Weapons Institute, in coordination with Factory Z117, has completed the manufacture of the STA 50 mortar and the CTA-50 ST sound-suppressing mortar shell assembly.

This is a lightweight weapon system, capable of being carried by individuals, capable of eliminating muzzle blast, flash, and smoke, making it highly significant in combat, especially in combat situations requiring secrecy and surprise.

Clearly, mastering the technology for manufacturing modern infantry weapons has enabled Vietnam's defense industry to effectively meet the demand for modern personal weapons for soldiers, making a positive contribution to the rapid modernization of the Army.
