(Baonghean.vn) - Preparing for the ceremonyOn October 22nd, representatives inaugurated the memorial house for Phan Boi Chau in Nam Dan town (Nghe An province) and held the 76th anniversary commemoration of his death on October 29th.The alumni association of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School and the Provincial Management Board of Historical Sites and Scenic Spots organized a ceremony to offer incense in commemoration of Mr. Phan Boi Chau at the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site in Truong An Ward, Hue City.

| The Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site is located in Truong An Ward, Hue City. As one of the leaders of the revolutionary movement in the early 20th century, Phan Boi Chau was arrested by the French colonialists in Shanghai (China) in June 1925 and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, due to pressure from the struggle for amnesty, the French colonialists forced him to be placed under house arrest in Hue. Out of affection and respect for Phan Boi Chau, the people of Vietnam and Thua Thien Hue province voluntarily donated to purchase a garden plot on Ben Ngu slope and build a house for him. This is where he lived his final years (1926-1940) and where he is finally laid to rest. |

| Within the historical site grounds, there is also a commemorative plaque marking the Vietnam-Japan exchange relationship stemming from the Dong Du movement initiated by Phan Boi Chau in the early 20th century, donated by benevolent Japanese individuals on the 70th anniversary of the death of the patriot Phan Boi Chau. |

| Mr. Phan Thieu Cat (third from the left), the grandson of Phan Boi Chau, currently lives in Canada but frequently visits this memorial site, as it is also his family's place of worship. Mr. Thieu Cat shared that his family always preserves the old house, especially the well and garden, as they were during his grandfather's time. Remarkably, during severe droughts, this well provided enough water for the local community. |

On October 29th, the couple will return to Nghe An to attend the inauguration ceremony of the memorial house for Mr. Phan at the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site in Nam Dan and the 76th anniversary of his death. |
