How do I register to donate my organs after death?
The two places in Vietnam where you can register and receive organ donation cards are Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi) and Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City).
According to the law, individuals aged 18 and above, with full legal capacity, regardless of gender or religion, have the right to donate their tissues and organs while alive or after death, including brain death, and to donate their bodies.

PThe law does not mandate parental consent for organ donation applications. However, family consent is encouraged because it can be difficult to notify medical facilities if the family is unaware of the registration for organ donation. This also avoids family opposition that could prevent the donor from fulfilling their wish.
A brain-dead organ donor can save the lives of more than 10 other people. Currently, tens of thousands of people in our country need tissue and organ transplants to sustain their lives, but these cannot be done due to a lack of sufficient tissue and organ sources.
From 2006 to the present, more than 1,000 people nationwide have received tissue and organ transplants. The majority of these organs and tissues come from living donors, with relatives donating a kidney or a portion of the liver. Organ donations from brain-dead donors are very limited.
