Party and people in the new era of the nation

Over thousands of years of building and defending the country, the consciousness of “people are the root” was formed and developed, but it was only after the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930) that our Party and beloved President Ho Chi Minh deeply appreciated the great role of the people, constantly taking care to build and strengthen the close relationship between the Party and the people. He said: “The country takes the people as the root”; “Our country is a democratic country, the highest position belongs to the people, because the people are the masters” and Uncle affirmed: “In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. In the world, nothing is stronger than the united force of the people”. That is Uncle Ho's immortal thought about the people and his belief in the strength of the people.

The relationship between the Party and the people was formed and developed due to the objective demands of the revolutionary cause. This is a very special relationship: the Party is both the leader, the ruler, and the servant of the people, while the people voluntarily agree with the leadership of the Party and are the masters of the country. The strength of the Party lies in the bond between the Party and the people.

Promoting the nation's tradition, absorbing Marxist-Leninist theory and Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Communist Party of Vietnam has put forward a very correct viewpoint: "Revolution is the cause of the people, by the people, for the people. The people are the masters, the people are the masters". Thanks to thoroughly grasping that viewpoint, our Party has led our people to defeat all invaders and achieved many great achievements of historical significance over the past 95 years.

Entering a new spring, a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise; an era developed on the basis of achievements of advanced and modern science and technology of the fourth industrial revolution, aiming to develop a modern socialist-oriented market economy, integrating for the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization"; an era of continuing to consistently implement the viewpoint "People are the root", building a great national unity bloc, building an advanced culture, imbued with national identity, building an open diplomacy, a modern national defense and security, building a streamlined, unified, synchronous political system, operating effectively and efficiently.

In 2025, our Party and people solemnly celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) towards important milestones: the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding (2030), the 100th anniversary of the country's founding (2045). Our Party will fully promote all resources, lead the people to overcome difficulties and challenges, and continue to achieve many great achievements in the coming time.

Entering the new era requires each of us to deeply remember the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho: “If we want to be loved and won the hearts of the people, we must do our best to do what is beneficial to the people and avoid what is harmful to the people”; “If we win the hearts of the people, we will have nothing to fear”; “If we do what the people want, we will surely succeed. If we go against what the people want, we will surely fail”; “The Party must have a good plan to develop the economy and culture, in order to constantly improve the people’s lives”. Inheriting the lessons of our ancestors, President Ho Chi Minh is a typical example of awareness and the policy of valuing talents. He affirmed, “Cadres are the root of all work” and reminded: “A living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches”.

Implementing well what Uncle Ho taught, especially valuing talents, valuing cadres who are truly virtuous and talented, is to promote the source of strength, the strength of the people's hearts - the Party's will, the strength of the heroic people, the strength crystallized from ardent patriotism, the spirit of solidarity and attachment so that our country can firmly step into a new era and beautiful new springs.
