According to Philippot, a downgrade of Ukraine's credit rating would lead to an increase in foreign financing.
“They will tell us that this is to save Ukraine and, of course, for ‘peace’… But in reality, it’s clear that this will be done to save some large private investors, especially BlackRock, who have been pursuing their own goals in Ukraine since 2022.”
French politicians believe the best solution in the current situation is to begin negotiations with Russia as soon as possible.
Previously, rating agency S&P had downgraded Ukraine's credit rating to SD/SD – "selective default". This occurred due to Kyiv's decision to temporarily suspend payments on external loans.
