By defeating Thanh Hoa, SLNA U15 successfully defended their championship title.
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite conceding a 1-1 equalizer in regulation time, Coach Phan Nhu Thuat's team brilliantly overcame Thanh Hoa in the penalty shootout to lift the 2019 U15 National Championship trophy.
Before the spectators at Thong Nhat Stadium had even settled into their seats, striker Phan Duy Hao warned the Thanh Hoa defense with a powerful long-range shot, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to make a diving save.
In the 10th minute, from a corner kick taken by Dam Duc Vinh, Phan Duy Hao positioned himself perfectly and headed the ball into the net from close range to open the scoring.

In the first half, U15 SLNA did not allow U15 Thanh Hoa many opportunities to threaten goalkeeper Xuan Son's goal. The 33rd minute was a rare such chance, however, Ha Huy Duc's shot went over the crossbar of the U15 SLNA goal.
The first half ended with complete dominance and a 1-0 lead for Coach Phan Như Thuật's team.
In the second half, U15 SLNA showed signs of slowing down while U15 Thanh Hoa played with great enthusiasm. And the young team from Thanh Hoa unexpectedly scored the equalizer, making it 1-1, from a long-range free kick by Nguyen Cong Son.

The ball went into the top corner, catching U15 SLNA's goalkeeper Xuan Son by surprise. With only 10 minutes left in the match, U15 SLNA had two dangerous opportunities from a direct free kick and a corner kick, but neither resulted in a goal.
In the 77th minute, U15 SLNA almost settled the match within the two halves of regular time. From a corner kick, captain Ngo Van Bac headed the ball from close range but unfortunately it went wide.
With no further goals scored after 80 minutes of regulation time, the two teams had to settle the final match with a tense penalty shootout.

Although captain Van Bac missed one penalty, goalkeeper Dang Xuan Son brilliantly saved two shots from U15 Thanh Hoa, helping U15 SLNA defeat their opponent with a 3-2 penalty shootout victory.

After a hard-fought and resilient victory over Thanh Hoa, U15 SLNA successfully defended their championship title. This marks the third time the team from Nghe An has won this tournament.
