(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 19th, the Steering Committee for the Nghe An Provincial Defense Zone Exercise held a working session to evaluate the results of the preparatory work (step 1) for the 2017 provincial defense zone exercise. At the meeting, after discussion and analysis, the Provincial Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee unanimously assessed that: In the past period, the preparation for the provincial and district-level defense zone exercises has ensured quality and progress as planned. The subcommittees assisting the Steering Committee have actively operated according to their functions and tasks. The Provincial Military Command (the permanent agency of the Exercise Steering Committee) has proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Exercise Steering Committee to issue leadership and guidance documents for the departments, agencies, and districts, towns, and cities participating in the exercise to carry out preparation work. Some preparatory aspects were of good quality and highly appreciated by the 4th Military Region Exercise Steering Committee, such as: advising on the issuance of a complete system of guidance and management documents; proactively building the evacuation command post and the system of fortifications and battle positions; surveying and identifying areas for live-fire exercises...

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh emphasized: In the coming time, the subcommittees, departments, agencies, and localities participating in the exercise need to be proactive and complete the preparation work well. Emphasis should be placed on effectively training the provincial-level exercise framework and the exercise frameworks of districts, towns, and cities on the exercise content. The Provincial Military Command (the permanent agency of the Steering Committee) and the Provincial Police need to closely coordinate with the main units of Military Region 4 and localities to develop and thoroughly practice the A2 live-fire exercise plans, enemy engagement plans, and live-fire plans… ensuring they closely match the plans and the practical situation of the area. Plans should be developed to ensure good traffic safety, public order, fire safety, and the safety of personnel and equipment for the forces participating in the exercise and the people.
