(Baonghean.vn) - Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Cong was present at the forward command post - Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region I (Hai Phong) to direct the search and rescue efforts for the 9 missing crew members from Nghe An province.
On the afternoon of June 29th, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center announced that, under the direction of the National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue, the Ministry of Transport, and the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Center deployed the SAR 411 vessel to command the scene, coordinating with SAR 273, HQ 636, Pacific 01, and Tan Cang Pioneer vessels to search for the nine missing crew members from Nghe An province of the NA-95899-TS vessel.

The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center requested the Chinese Search and Rescue Center to deploy the rescue vessel Nanhaijiu 118 along with one aircraft to participate in the search under the on-site command of the SAR 411 vessel according to the search plan developed using SAROPs software.
On the morning of June 29th, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Cong was present at the forward command post - Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region I (Hai Phong) to direct the search and rescue efforts for the 9 missing crew members from Nghe An province.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong highly appreciated the dedication of the maritime forces participating in the search and rescue operation, who closely coordinated with the army, navy, border guards, ship owners, fishermen, local authorities, and the search and rescue forces of China.
The Deputy Minister of Transport requested that forces at the scene urgently implement search and rescue measures. The forces must race against time to carry out the search. In addition to continuing the surface search using the SAROPs software, forces need to immediately deploy underwater search plans using trawls, divers, etc. Besides the modern equipment of the functional forces, it is necessary to mobilize the participation of fishermen, using manual equipment to search for the missing crew members. For the rescued crew members, continue to provide medical care to help them recover quickly. Furthermore, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong requested that relevant agencies coordinate with local authorities to encourage and stabilize the morale of the families of the crew members in the affected areas.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong conveyed the condolences of Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The to the rescued crew members and the families of the missing and deceased crew members.
As reported, at noon on June 28th, at position 19 degrees 32.334' N 107 degrees 42.263' E (approximately 32 nautical miles south of Bach Long Vy Island), the Pacific 01 vessel, en route from Binh Thuan to Cam Pha (Quang Ninh), unexpectedly collided with a fishing boat owned by Mr. Ho Ba Lam (born in 1981) - the owner of fishing boat NA-95899-TS from Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, with 19 crew members on board. The strong collision caused the Quynh Luu fishing boat to capsize, floating precariously on the sea surface. Subsequently, the Pacific 01 rescued 9 crew members, while 10 went missing. By this morning (June 29th), rescue forces had found one fisherman's body and are continuing the search for the 9 missing fishermen.
The body of one of the crew members is currently being preserved on board the SAR 411 vessel; nine crew members remain missing.
Search and rescue forces at the scene are still accelerating the search for the 9 missing crew members of the vessel NA 95899 TS within the search area established under the on-site command of SAR 411, continuing to coordinate with Chinese rescue forces to deploy search operations for the missing crew members.
