At the first session, the Traffic Police Department approved a list of 153,102 vehicle license plates from 63 provinces and cities to be auctioned. This is the first list of vehicle license plates to be auctioned, scheduled to take place around August 15-20, 2023. The license plates are allocated to the following vehicle types: passenger cars, buses, trucks, and vans.

After selecting a license plate to be auctioned, participants deposit the application fee and advance payment into the auction organization's account and are issued an auction participation code.
Next, the auction participants access the online auction information page using their accounts and follow the auction procedures according to the auction regulations.
The starting bid for the auction will be 40 million VND, with a bidding increment of 5,000,000 VND. The license plate for the winning bidder will only be issued to the winning bidder. The proceeds from the auction will be deposited into the State budget.
