Egypt's squad list for the 2026 World Cup.

Mohamed Salah entered the tournament very close to one of the biggest milestones in Egyptian football history. He was just two goals short of the national team's record of 69 goals – a record currently held by head coach Hossam Hassan.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Salah scored two goals, and this time he will aim to improve his tally in North America. The Liverpool striker is expected to be the spearhead of the Pharaohs' attack.

Supporting Salah in attack are Omar Marmoush, who just had a breakout season with Manchester City, and experienced striker Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet. In midfield, Emam Ashour brings creativity and energy, while captain Mohamed El Shenawy remains a reliable custodian in goal.

Egypt progressed through the group stage with three matches against Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran. The team played their first match in Seattle before traveling to Vancouver and then returning to Seattle.
