List of the Vietnamese national team participating in the ASEAN Cup 2024

On the afternoon of December 5th,Coach Kim Sang-sikThe final decision has been made regarding the list of 26 players for the Vietnamese national team participating in the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

Accordingly, seven players had to say goodbye to the national team, including goalkeeper Dang Van Lam, midfielders Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Van Truong, Tran Bao Toan, Nguyen Thai Son, and forwards Nguyen Dinh Bac and Nguyen Quoc Viet. Among these seven players, the most regrettable case is that of Dang Van Lam, as the goalkeeper did not recover from his injury in time to secure a place in the Vietnamese national team's lineup.

The remaining players, with the exception of Phan Van Duc and Tran Bao Toan who are over 23 years old, are all young talents with great potential for development. Being given the opportunity to hone their skills in the national team will help them accumulate valuable experience, enabling them to gradually become a quality successor generation for the future, starting with the 2026 U23 Asian Qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games in 2025.

Tonight (December 5th), three players from Nam Dinh Club, including defender Nguyen Van Vi, striker Nguyen Xuan Son, and Nguyen Van Toan, will join the national team after completing their duties for their club in the AFC Champions League Two 2024/2025 group stage.

Tomorrow morning (December 6th), the team will depart for Laos to prepare for their opening match in Group B of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship against the host nation's team. This match will take place at 8 PM on December 9th at the Laotian National Stadium.
