In the squad for the U23 Asian Championship, Coach Park loses a key defender.
(Baonghean.vn) - After traveling to Kunshan (China) to prepare for the opening match of the 2018 AFC U23 Asian Championship against South Korea on January 9th, Coach Park Hang Seo had to finalize the official list of 23 players according to the tournament regulations.

Concluding his preparations for the U23 Asian Championship with a 1-1 draw against Palestine U23 in China, coach Park Hang Seo decided to drop two more players today (January 7).
Accordingly, the two players dropped from the squad are defender A Hoang (HAGL) and striker Le Thanh Binh (FLC Thanh Hoa). The HAGL defender unfortunately suffered an injury during a training session after the M-150 Cup. Therefore, the Vietnam U23 team will only have central defenders Tien Dung, Thanh Chung, Dinh Trong, and Duy Manh remaining.
A Hoang's hamstring injury is quite complex, and coach Park Hang Seo cannot wait any longer. With this type of injury, he may need surgery upon his return to Vietnam to ensure the continuation of his football career.
Regarding Le Thanh Binh, the striker from Thanh Hoa has not played in recent matches and has been dropped because he failed to impress coach Park. Despite having the best height (1.76m), the Thanh Hoa striker is not suited to the playing style that the South Korean coach is building.
Tomorrow, January 8th, A Hoang and Le Thanh Binh will fly back to Vietnam. This afternoon, the Vietnam U23 team departed for Kunshan (Jiangsu) to officially begin their participation in the 2018 AFC U23 Asian Championship. Their opening match will be against South Korea U23 on January 11th, followed by a match against Australia U23 on January 14th, and finally a match against Syria on January 17th.
Currently, the extremely low temperatures in China will pose a significant challenge to the physical condition of Coach Park Hang Seo's players. Afternoon and evening temperatures in Jiangsu could drop to 2 degrees Celsius, or even below 0 degrees Celsius, with snowfall in some areas.
