Yen Bai City Police have just arrested Nguyen Van Ngoc, 25 years old, an employee of a local phone store to investigate property theft.

According to the investigation, on October 15, a customer bought an iPhone 6 Plus at the store, but when he opened it, the 20 million VND phone was nowhere to be found, only rocks and pebbles inside. The seller opened another box and continued to discover the same situation.

Suspecting Ngoc as the culprit, the police summoned him and he admitted his actions.

Ngoc confessed to having stolen 15 boxes of iPhone 5 and 6, selling them for over 100 million VND. According to his statement, after work, Ngoc secretly opened the display cabinet, used a blowtorch and a cutting machine to cleverly open the phone boxes, and then replaced them with gravel and rocks. Ngoc rewrapped the boxes as if they were new, so the store did not detect them when they checked the outside.
