Daniel Craig rumored to quit 007 role to act in American TV series
The actor associated with James Bond is said to not return in the new film about the legendary spy because he is busy pursuing the project "Purity".
Variety reports that Daniel Craig is in talks to play the male lead in the television series Purity, an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's best-selling novel of the same name. The new series will be about 20 episodes long and will be co-produced by Showtime, Netflix, FX and other small companies.

Many sources say that Daniel Craig will not have time to return to play James Bond while pursuing this project. This will also be the first time the British actor has traveled to the US to film a TV series.
In October 2015, Daniel Craig expressed that he had run out of energy to play James Bond. He admitted that he would rather slit his wrists than return to the role of the spy he had been attached to for 10 years. In early February, British newspapers predicted that actor James Norton of the War & Peace series would replace Daniel Craig as the next 007. In addition, actors Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Damian Lewis were also bet for this classic role.
Purity tells the story of an American college student who is in debt and has many relationships. Franzen's book The Corrections won the National Book Award and was made into a hit HBO movie. The new project has not yet found a director.
